Data Deletion Request

Send an email to dipa@pingtail.com with the subject line Data deletion request, and include:

• The email address or phone number registered to the account.
• The business name, if the account belongs to a business.
• Whether you want everything deleted, or only a specific category such as message history.

Send it from the address registered to the account where possible. If you cannot, we will ask you a small number of questions to confirm the account is yours before we delete anything — this protects you from someone else erasing your data.

On a full deletion request we remove:

• Your account record, profile and contact details.
• Catalog, order and customer records held in your account.
• Message content and metadata processed through a WhatsApp Business Account you connected to our services.
• Support correspondence not required for a legal record.
• Analytics records that can be linked back to you.

A small amount of data has to survive deletion because the law requires it or because removing it would harm someone else:

• Invoices and tax records — retained for the period required under Indian tax law.
• Fraud and abuse records — a minimal record where deletion would let a suspended account simply re-register.
• Data owned by another business — if you were a customer of a merchant using our platform, that merchant is the controller of their own order records. We will pass your request to them and tell you who they are.
• Backups — deleted data persists in encrypted backups until they age out on the normal rotation, described below.

We acknowledge your request within 2 working days and complete deletion from live systems within 30 days, which is the window set by applicable data protection law.

Encrypted backups are overwritten on their normal rotation and are fully clear within 90 days. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.

We email you to confirm once deletion is complete. After that the account cannot be recovered — export anything you need first.

If you want a copy of your data before it is erased, say so in the same email and we will send a machine-readable export first. This is free.

Reply to the same thread and ask for the decision to be reviewed. You also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction.
